SPEAKING AND COACHING recent

We were privileged to have Gilly as our speaker at a recent NZ Sales Manager REV-UP seminar. Our seminars are short and intended to be accessible and simple for our readers in the sales profession to gain skills and knowledge quickly.  The challenge for speakers is distilling down often complex messages. Gilly really hit the mark at our session, inspiring and provoking the group to take on board some complex messages in a limited time.
Alastair Noble, General Manager,  Espire Media

Gilly’s success lies in her ability to immediately connect with her audience – no matter what their background is. We had many positive comments from the conference participants including: “Unpretentious and inspiring”; “Motivational speech from Gilly was a highlight”; “Gilly had a very engaging style”.
She is a presenter with many qualities that are hard to find and I have no hesitation in recommending her for any speaking or presentation event.
Ian Harper, Executive Officer ASENZ (Association for Supported Employment New Zealand)

In my previous role as General Manager Sales & Marketing for Marley New Zealand Ltd I decided that the National Sales & Marketing conference needed a keynote speaker to open the conference and provide a foundation for ensuring that the conference achieved the desired outcomes and objectives. As a consequence of this decision I arranged for Gilly Chater to open the 2009 conference. Gilly’s keynote speech was exceptionally well received and provided the platform for our most successful conference to date. Having now moved to Australia I would have no hesitation in using Gilly again and I am very pleased to recommend Gilly as a keynote speaker to any organisation.
John Pivac, GM Sales Australia & New Zealand, Philmac PTY Ltd

Gilly Chater was our keynote speaker at our sales and marketing conference. Her presentation was a highlight of the conference. It focused on, and supported, our One team – Together we go further theme superbly, I would have no hesitation in recommending Gilly as a keynote speaker.
Jeff La Haye, General Manager, Dux Industries

I was impressed with the way Gilly’s open and confident style connected with our people. Over 70 of our staff were present and less than 50% are originally from New Zealand. Gilly connected with the entire group with ease and at times she had many of us in fits of laughter. I am confident Gilly inspired a large number of the team and Skycomms as a whole derived a significant benefit from the event.
I have no hesitation recommending Gilly as a presenter for conferences and am confident she would delight a wide range of audiences.
Merv Taylor, General Manager, Sky Communications

Your presentation to our Rural Women New Zealand 2011 national conference was inspirational. Your concepts were very skillfully crafted and innovative. You certainly got the attention of the delegates early, which is sometimes not easy as it seems during the last session of a conference when thoughts are turning towards heading home. Our delegates responded well to the challenges set by your presentation because they could personally relate to the stories you told.
Liz Evans, National President, Rural Women New Zealand

Gilly’s presentation equipped us to face the huge new challenges and hold our heads high. The renewed levels of energy she generated in the team were truly amazing.
Joe McDaid, Country Services Manager, Nokia

There are many challenges facing leaders and Gilly provided insight into the tools required for resilient leadership. Her session was enjoyable and her approach challenges the norm for leadership development. She has a unique gift in this field and is able to deal with all levels of leadership effortlessly.
Jason Rogers, Chairman, Te Kotahitanga O Ngati Whakaue Assets Trust Board

I always enjoy reading your Newsletters and think of you with gratitude often — my life is so much more emotionally balanced and fabulous now than it was before I met you!  And now I have the wonderful task of teaching my boys to approach life with the same flexibility and understanding of others.  What joy!
Leslie Shannon, Senior Manager, Communications Industry, Finland

I have used Gilly on a number of occasions to mentor/coach new staff that are either moving into a new senior management/ leadership role (often for the first time) or are struggling in their current work environment. In this regard I have found Gilly’s work to be of the highest standard with noticeable results in the improvement in work related performance, but also the personal development of the individuals concerned. Gilly tailors her approach for each individual based on their specific needs and works with them over a set program of one on one coaching clinics to realize their full potential and leadership. Feedback from staff who have worked with Gilly has also been positive with often the relationship maintained on an informal basis on completion of formal coaching programme
Matt Casbolt, Managing Director, Supply Chain Industry

It was with your coaching and guidance that helped me turnaround my situation, if it wasn’t for you I would still be living in the past and wondering “what if”!
Lee  Silvester, Senior Manager, Transport Industry

Gilly has shown us that calmness and clarity of thinking are two vital components in making the right decisions and overall she has provided us with a greater sense of resilience needed to be successful in this busy world we live and work in.  She has also taught us that having the right attitude in today’s competitive world is so important; it’s the vital ingredient that helps us see difficult situations in a far more positive state, therefore critical decisions are made with far more clarity, calmness and accuracy.  Gilly is just as effective with individual one on ones as she is in a group environment and I would highly recommend that you talk to Gilly about making a difference to your business and to the people within your team.”
John Pivac, GM Sales, Plastics Industry, Australia

The insight gained of understanding my thinking has had a profound effect on my work and the teams that I manage.  So often we know that something is wrong, either with our own performance or the way the team is working, but don’t know how to address it.  Through understanding the way our thinking affects the world we create, we can produce the most amazing results.
Mark Jamieson, Programme Director, Software Industry

Having worked with Gilly in the past, and having seen the results gained in many diverse teams, I engaged Gilly to work with both my team and myself as our coach.   At the end of the two days most of them had gained some insight, the others being “on their way”. Over the next four months, with the one-on-one coaching provided by Gilly, both face to face, and over the phone, combined with further one day retreats, all of the team made significant changes both personally and professionally. These changes helped them understand themselves more, work with others more effectively and truly release their stress. The team now operates more calmly and effectively and started to see these changes in their own teams as they have cast their new shadow over those they lead.
Audrey Watts, Senior Executive, Communications Industry

The keynote presentation was to our teaching faculty just what was required! It was well illustrated with some good examples from personal experience. We do all cast a shadow as teachers and have a huge influence on the students in our care – we all need to make sure it is a positive shadow we cast.
David Macleod, Principal, Mahurangi College

Your presentation at our 25th Anniversary Symposium of the Schizophrenia Fellowship on “Acquiring and Sustaining Wellbeing” was very well received. It was both entertaining and thought provoking and the ideas you presented so well, led on to many more discussions on Health Realization and the 3 Principles.
Cindi Wallace, Schizophrenia Fellowship
